「さよならパーティー」の集合写真です。左から２人目、黒いシャツの人はクラウディ・ウェイベル選手。今回の世界選手権で、ティールコンテストとベルギーチームでの成績は、彼にとって不本意だったかもしれませんが、素晴らしい素質に恵まれたプレイヤーのひとりである事に変りありません。彼のティールフォームをほんの少しでも真似できればと心の底から思います。右端の方は２名いるベルギーチーム・コーチの１人です。我々日本チームと同じホテルに宿泊していたので、ジュニア選手の育成に関して、いかにトップレベルに負けないメンタルの強さを身につけさせるか、貴重な会話ができました。夜中の２時まで話し込む時もあり、本当にお金に換えられない経験でした。

His results at this World Championship probably were not exactly to his expectations, neither in the shooting-competiton nor the Belgian team result, but nevertheless I consider him one of the most gifted petanque players ever. I wish, I could copy his shooting form just a tiny bit. Alas, it is only a wish. On the far right is one of the two Belgian coaches. Staying at the same hotel we were able to discuss with him very valuable points about coaching junior players, and on how to prepare them to mentaly compete at the top level. One conversation with him went on till 2 am in the morning, a really priceless expirence, indeed!

私（A・ビューラー）とツーショットで写っているのはアルゼンチンチームのネストール・ゲバラさんのです。ティールコンテストの決勝でタイのフサアド選手に負けましたが、強烈な印象を残しました。彼の「気楽な」リラックスしたスタイルは、多くの選手達がプレッシャーに押しつぶされる世界選手権のような大きな大会にはむいていると思います。
My “two shot” with Nestor Guevara from the Argentine team. Although he lost in the shooting-competition’s Final against Thailand’s Phusa-Ad, he made quite an impression. His easy-going, very relaxed style is most suited for big events like the World Championships where many other players often fail on the mental side.
タイのフサアド・タレウンクラット選手。前回、そして今回のティール世界チャンピオンです。彼はアジア・ペタンク界最高の資質を持つ人のひとりです。超人的なティール能力、ハイレベルなポワンテ、とても友好的な態度は常にスポーツマンシップのお手本です。
