写真は２００６年ペタンク世界選手権のテランです。この大会で通常使われるテランには、コンクリートのように堅い地面に砂を敷き、その上に砕いた石をバラまきます。砂の厚さは約１センチ、但しゲームに使われるテランそれぞれで砂の厚さが違っていて、特に会場中央付近の場所は砂が少なく、ポワンティールの「距離感の力量差」を明確にしました。一方で相当数のカローがでた、このようなテランはティーラーには理想的でした。

As usual for this event the terrain was made of a solid, concrete-like base with a layer of sand and sprinkled with crushed gravel on top. The sand layer was approximately 1 cm thick, but in the course of the competition, several courts, especially the ones located in the middle of the hall had less sand, and these courts proved to be quiet a challenge for the pointers to adjust the distance. For the shooter, the terrain was perfect. The high number of carreaux is well due to the hard base with a sand layer on top.
